Thought that I would post some updates on my Civil War Project.

Here is the first photo, It's a picture of my First Brigade, just the infantry though. It's made up of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Connecticut Volunteer Infantry and the 2nd Maine Volunteer Infantry. I still have to paint up the command stand which will be BG Erasmus Keyes and a 3 section battery of 6lb smoothbore cannon

Here's the 1st Rhode Island Volunteer Infantry coming out of an apple orchard

so I was going to upload more but for the last week it wont let me. so here's the only photos that I have

So, with moving the store and a brand new baby I have not had a chance to post a whole lot. But here are some of the completed regiments that I have. All are early war American Civil War.

First up is the 1st Rhode Island Volunteers Infantry Regiment. Commanded by Col. Burnside, They went to war in blue pullover smocks. I still have to buy the miniatures for the 2nd Regiment, but it will be good to have them done. I was not happy with the flags that I bought. I think that I will make them next time.

Next is a regiment from New Orleans
It is the 7th Louisiana. I read that some of them went to war in mouse colored zouave uniforms

Above is the competed and flagged 7th Tennessee from Lebanon, TN.
And finally, I have the 5th Louisiana. I'll be adding more companies later but here are the first few.

I really like the pre-war and first year of the war for painting. All the militia uniforms are different and everyone was pulled into regiments making them very colorful. Anyway, that's it for now got to go and take care of the baby.

Perry Minis painted as 7th Tenn

So my post for today is a Black Powder / Regimental Fire and fury project (i haven't decided). My interest in the American Civil War is the early uniforms of the war, so militia of the 1860 to 1861 time period. I'm going to try and recreate some of the brigades of the Battle of First Mananas (Battle of Bull Run).

This is the 7th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry that went west and fought in the first part of the war in Virgina and West Virgina. They were raised mostly in Wilson County and clothed by the ladies of Lebanon (which is the town that my father was born and raised in) though there were a couple of other counties that provided companies for the regiment.

Some of the equipment that I painted is conjectural of course but I tried stay pretty close to the description of the uniform. This will eventually be a 40 man regiment mounted on stands of 4 figs each. For Black Powder I will mount the 4man stands 2 to a bigger stand for 5 stands... did that make since? This is still a WIP, so I need to touch-up mistakes and finish details like the drums and then they will be ready to base, I'm hoping to get the rest of the regiment in the mail soon.

Anyway, I like I said I'm going to be doing a lot of the early uniforms. Next will be Rhodes Island Regiments and and Grey Clad New Yorkers. Then blue clad Louisiana and the Stonewall Brigade will be painted up. I usually try to stick with one manufacture but the Perry's have limited choice in this period so I will be switching to Redoubt miniatures. Redoubt has an amazing amount of choice in recreated the early war stuff.

Bolt Action Japanese and Germans done

So here are the Japanese.  I decided to use the washing style to paint them. Imperial Japanese uniforms can be amazingly easy to paint because they seem to be one color for all the items on the uniform. I think I need to use black to pick out the spaces between the shirt and the straps. Also, I'm going to need to learn how to photo miniatures.
These are my panzergrenadiers. I have no idea how to base them yet. I need to look around the net and see how others are basing their figures.

Event Decks

Just a reminder, the event decks are going to be onsale on the 22nd. I'm going to have three boxes in the store, not sure how many decks per box. I'm also going to limit it to one of each event deck per person due to how popular this is going to be

Grey Knights

After the camera died earlier, I wanted to post something with photos for today. These are my Grey knights. There are only two of the minis that are modified, and then only slightly.
